Privacy Policy

The PRISMA 2020 Flow Diagram Generator ("the tool") is built to keep your work private. This page explains exactly what is and is not collected when you use it.

Summary

• Your diagram data is never sent to us or to Google. The review title, numbers, labels and diagrams you enter stay in your browser.
• We use Google Analytics only to measure basic, anonymous visit statistics for the site.
• We have turned off Google Analytics' optional automatic tracking features (listed below).
• There are no accounts, no advertising cookies at this time, and no sale of data.

What we collect from your diagram

Nothing. The tool has no accounts, no server-side processing and no database. Everything you type into the generator is processed entirely in your browser and is never uploaded.

What is stored on your device

• Autosave: your current diagram inputs are saved in your browser's local storage so you can pick up where you left off.
• Theme preference: your light or dark choice is saved in local storage.
• Saved files: "Save progress" and the PNG, SVG and PDF exports are created on your device and saved wherever you choose.

This data stays on your device. You can remove it at any time with the Reset button or by clearing this site's data in your browser settings.

Cookies and analytics

This site uses Google Analytics (Google tag) to understand how many people visit and which pages they view. Google Analytics uses cookies and collects standard visit information, such as your approximate location (derived from your IP address), device and browser type, the pages you load, and how you arrived at the site. We see this only as aggregated reports.

Tracking features we have turned off

Google Analytics offers optional "enhanced measurement" features. On this site they are all switched off, so the following are not collected:

• Scrolls: we do not record when you scroll to the bottom of a page.
• Outbound clicks: we do not record clicks on links that lead away from this site.
• Site search: we do not record search queries. The site has no search feature.
• Form interactions: we do not record when you interact with a form. The diagram form fields are never sent to Google Analytics.
• Video engagement: we do not record video activity. The site has no embedded videos.
• File downloads: we do not record file downloads, including your PNG, SVG, PDF or saved-progress exports.
• Page changes from browser history: we do not record automatic page-view events triggered by history changes.

Google Analytics still records that a page was loaded, together with the standard visit information described above.

Your choices

You can opt out with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on, or by blocking cookies or scripts in your browser or with a tracking-blocking extension. Blocking analytics does not affect how the tool works. See how Google uses information from sites that use its services.

If we later add advertising (for example Google AdSense), this policy will be updated to describe the cookies and third-party vendors involved before ads are shown.

Third-party services

• Google Fonts: the page loads the Geist font from Google Fonts. Your browser therefore sends a request, including your IP address, to Google. See Google's privacy policy.
• Google Analytics: loaded from googletagmanager.com to measure basic site usage, as described above. See Google's privacy policy.
• Website hosting: the site is served by a third-party hosting provider, which may keep standard server logs (such as IP address and browser type).

Children

The tool is intended for researchers, students and faculty and does not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new date.
